We are delighted to welcome Baltimore Road to our stage in early April.
Influences such as The Mamas & Papas, The Eagles, The Beatles, The Byrds, Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Tyson, Dire Straits, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Heart, Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael and Steely Dan all colour the musical canvas that emerges distinctly as Baltimore Road. Country, blues, rock and roll, R&B and 1930’s jazz…years of separate influences, writing and playing independently: Pam and Wayne as a folk-rock duo; Tom as a blues-rocker; Stew as a country-rocker; and Bob as a session drummer and member of many local bar and casino bands…all ultimately meshed into the magic that is Baltimore Road.
Our first 2016 Scribblers Coffee House features Plain Salt. The band, which mostly comes from Lorette, has been described a a “Prairie Celtic Roots Rock” band. Featuring music from the Maritimes and throughout the British Isles, the band feature a lively sound and a positive energy.
Doors open 6:30 pm, the music begins at 7:00 pm with performances from the CLC band and choir. The feature act is up next followed by an open mic.
Admission is free with pass-the-hat donations for performers. At Bibliothèque Taché Library in CLC.

We are delighted to have Mr. John Huston back in Lorette again for his dramatized reading of Charles Dickens’ Christmas Classic A Christmas Carol.
Few people are aware that Dickens himself did live dramatic readings of his famous book. Mr. Huston had gone to tremendous lengths to research Dickens’ methods and scripts and delivers a stirring performance of an old classic.

We’re thrilled to have Chenoa McKelvey join us for our November 19, 2015 Scribblers Coffee House.
Chenoa is a singer/songwriter from Winnipg. Though she started out playing with local punk and metal bands, she has since been exploring her acoustic side playing solo shows.
Her influences include Bob Dylan, Florence and the Machine, and Feist. She models her writing around other artists such as Tom Waits and Muddy Waters as she captures a nostalgic sound with blues influenced melodies and accompaniment.
The CLC band and choir is opening and they’re just getting ready for their Dec 3 Christmas Concert.
